2、enatureoftranslation,thefunctionsandtheirsoflanguage,linguisticandcommunicationtheoriesintranslationandthecompetenceofatranslator.Inlearningthetechniquesoftranslation,thestudentswillmainlyworkontheanalysisofatext,wordmeaningsincontext,theprocessoftranslation,feasibilityoflitera
3、ltranslationandexpressioninidiomaticChineseandEnglish.Thecoursewillalsohelpthestudentstogaininsightintotranslationfromculturalandaestheticperspectivestoenhancetheircompetenceinthetwolanguages.Bytheendofthecourse,thestudentsareexpectedtobeabletotranslate,withreasonableaccuracy,f
4、aithfulnessandappropriateness,passagesoncommonsubjectsineverydaycommunication.2.TeachingProcedures:Theclasswillmainlybeconductedinlecturingandcommentingonstudents’exerciseandclassperformance.Discussion,questionsandanswerswillbeencouragedthroughoutthewholecourse.Homeworkassignme
