2、closelylinkedtosocialcritique.Thisclaimforanactivepositioningofresearchandresearcherswithintheongoingdiscourseposesomemethodologicalandethicalproblems.Methodologicalproblemsconcernthequestionofwhetherornotitispossibletoshowthelinksbetweentheactualanalyticalresearchpracticeandtheimp
3、etusforsocialchangeassociatedwithit.Ethicalconsiderationsmayquestionthevalidityofaresearchprogramthatseemtocrosstheborderof‘manufacturingopinion.’ThisarticletriestoexaminesomemethodologicalprogramsoftheCriticalDiscourseAnalysiswithspecialregardtotheoutlinedco‐foundationofcriticalan
4、dempiricalmethodologicalprincipalsandtriestoshowhowagenuinelycriticalapproachtodiscoursestudycanandshouldbepartoffurthermethodologicaldiscussions.Inthisarticle,Iwouldliketopresentsomethoughtsconcerningtheconceptofcritiqueasitiselaboratedwithinthefieldofdiscoursestudiesandmoreprecis
5、ely,inthefieldofCriticalDiscourseAnalysis.Ithinkthattheseconceptscanbeadoptedwithinotherbranchesofsocialsciencesinordertodefineamoregeneralprojectofthosepracticessuchascriticalresearch.Thefollowingremarksarewrittenfromatheoreticalperspective,whichclearlytracebacktotheworkofMichelFo
6、ucault.Foucault,asoneoftheinfluentialauthorswithinthetraditionofdiscoursetheories,referstothetermcritiqueastheartofnotbeinggovernedinacertainway(Foucault,1992,p.12).ThisclaimislinkedtoFoucault’sprogramofcriticallyreconstructingdiscursivepracticesinwhichsubjectivityisconstitutedwith
7、inspecificconfigurationsofpowerandknowledge(Foucault,2005).FollowingFoucault,theempiricalstudyofdiscursivepracticescanbeconceivedasanattempttoanalysesocialphenomenaasbeingtoanimportantextentdiscursivelyconfigured.Anyarticulationofspecificknowledgeaboutsocialpracticesisatthesametime
