2、es,Iowa50010SUMMARY:Techniquesaredescribedforthegrowthandcharacterizationofsomemammaliancoronaviruses.Becauseofthefastidiousnatureoftheirgrowthrequirements,mostwillreplicateonlyincellsderivedfromthenaturalhostoracloselyrelatedspecies.FetalcatceilsareusedtogrowFIPV
3、,andporcineceilsareusedtogrowTGEVandHEV.However,CCVwillreplicateinbothfelineandcaninecells.Althoughallfourofthesevirusesprefertoreplicateinacellinthestationaryphaseofgrowth,FIPVisabletoreplicateinanactivelygrowingcell.Eachviruscausesacytopathiceffectinmonolayercel
