4、,UrbanGeographyandRegionalGeographystudies.Theeconomiclinksanditsinteract-ionintheMetropolitanareasarerepresentedastheirsocialandeconomicflowsbetweenthem;theseflowsincludehumanflow,freightflow,informationflow,capitalflow,techniqueandknowledgeflow,etc.S
5、tudyingtheseflowscanwellhelpusuncoverthespatialdistributionfeaturesofmarketdevelopmentandevolutionintheMetropolitanarea.ThispapertakesWuhanMetropolitanareasasanexample.Firstly,wecomputetheeconomiclinksintensityandtheeconomicattachingdegreeofeachcity,wi
6、threferencetodistanceanddailyaccessibility.WedefinethescopeofWuhanMetropolitanareasas"3circles15cities".Thenbasedontheanalysisoftheurbanfunctionaleffect,weconstructtheurbanflowmodelasF=NEandgiveoutthedefinitionofeachvariable.Wealsocomputethetendencyand
7、intensityofurbaneconomicandsocialelementflowsinWuhanMetropolitanareas.Itisfoundoutthat:1)thespatialdifferencebetweencentralcity'seconomicandsocialelementsflowsinWuhanMetropolitanAreasisdistinct;2)theexternaleconomiclinkstakesonnotableZipfruleandithasfo
8、rmedthe"saddle-backed"spatialstructurewhichtheintensityoftheeconomicandsociallinksamongWuhancity.TheperipheryofWuhanmetropolitanareasislargerthantheinsidetrack.Finally,weinvestigatethespatialdistributioncharacteristicsoftheeconomiclinks
