5、idualsectionshavingbeenexplainedinChapters5,6,and7,thegeneralcablelayoutofsimplebeamswillnowbediscussed.Thelayoutofabeamcanbeadjustedbyvaryingboththeconcreteandthesteel.Thesectionofconcretecanbevariedastoitsheight,width,shape,andthecurvatureofitssoffitorextrado
6、s.Thesteelcanbevariedoccasionallyinitsareabutmostlyinitspositionrelativetothecentroidalaxisofconcrete.Byadjustingthesevariables,manycombinationsoflayoutarepossibletosuitdifferentloadingconditions.Thisisquitedifferentfromthedesignofreinforced-concretebeams,where
