3、uggestionsthatitisanextensionofChina’ssoftpoweraimedatfacilitatingChineseFDIinthosecountries,oftenforaccesstonaturalresources,thereisnosystematicanalysisofthisintheliterature.Inthispaper,weexaminethisinvestmentoftheChinesestateovertime.Ourresultssuggestthatthepatterno
4、finvestmentisindeedexplainedwellbyfactorsthatareusedinthestylizedliteraturetoexplaindirectionalpatternsofoutwardFDI.Theyalsodemonstratethatthe(positive)relationshipbetweenChineseECIandtherecipientcountries?naturalresourcerichnessisnoteconomicallymeaningful.Finally,whi
