2、rogram.UMStudentExchangeprogram(UMSEP)isdesignedforinternationalstudentswhowishtoacquiretheexperienceoflivingandstudyinginaMalaysiancampusthroughashort-termstudyprogram.Itaimsatfosteringinternationalunderstandingamongstudentsofdifferentnationalitiesbyprovidinganexcellentlearningenvironment.Thro
3、ughtheprogram,studentsfromoverseascanpursuestudiesthroughtaughtcoursesorresearchintheirfieldofinterestandgainbroadperspectivesondifferentculturesandbackgroundoftheirpeers.2.DEFINITIONTheUMSEPisashort-termstudyprogramofferedtolocalandinternationalstudents.TheInternationalStudentCentre(ISC)willha
4、ndletheintakeofinternationalundergraduatestudentsonly.CategoriesofUMSEParelistedasfollows:I.StudentExchangeProgrammeUMSEPappliestostudentswhoareinterestedtospendatleastonesemesterandNOTMOREthanoneacademicsessionatUniversityofMalaya.Studentsenrollingunderthisprogramwillbepermittedtoregisterincou
5、rsesorresearchareasoftheirchoice(subjecttotherulesandregulationsgoverningtheprogram).UMSEPisopenedtoallundergraduatestudentsfromforeignuniversities.ParticipationinUMSEPStudentsparticipatingintheprogrammaychoosetoenrolinoneormoreofthecoursesofferedduringthesemesterorsessionaslistedbelow:(a)Regul
6、aracademicundergraduatecourse.(b)Co-curriculumcourses(practicalcoursesintheareasofculture,artsandsports).(c)Supervisedindependentresearch.Studentsmayidentifytheirownchoiceoffacultymemberstobethesupervisor.HavingbasicMalayLanguageproficiencyisanaddedadvantagetostudentswhowishtoenrolinundergradua
