3、lpchildrenacquiretheskillofwritingbyhand.  Berningerandhercolleaguesconductedastudythatlookedattheabilityofstudentstocompletevariouswritingtasks---bothonacomputerandbyhand.Thestudy,publishedin2009,foundthatwhenwritingwithapenandpaper,participantswrotelongeressaysandmorecomplet

4、esentencesandhadafasterwordproductionrate.  Inamorerecentstudy,Berningerlookedatwhatrolespellingplaysinastudent’swritingskillsandfoundthathowwellchildrenspellistiedtoknowwelltheycanwrite.“Spellingmakessomeofthethinkingpartsofthebrainactivewhichhelpsusaccessourvocabulary,wordme

5、aningandconcepts.Itisallowingourwrittenlanguagetoconnectwithideas.”Berningersaid.  Spellinghelpsstudentstranslateideasintowordsintheirmindfirstandthentotranscribe(轉(zhuǎn)換)“thosewordsinthemindwrittensymbolsonpaperorkeyboardandscreen,”thestudysaid.Seeingthewordsinthe“mind’seye”helpsc
