3、on,electricpowertrade,gastransportandmilitaryapplication)andbecauseofthedemandsontheiroperationandthesafetyrequirementsofthem.Thescopeoftheirdutieshasbeenwidenedandtherequire-mentsontheiraccuracy(trackingofthecharacteristicswithmaximumeciency)hasalsobeenincreased.Fortunately,atthesamet
4、ime,theareaofcontroldesignmethodologyhassignicantlyimproved,andnon-lineartechniquesaregainingmoreandmoreground[6]inadditiontothetraditionallinearmethods.Thisdevelopmenthasspecialimpor-tanceincaseofprocess-(forexamplethermodynamical)systems[5]aswellasinthecaseofelectricalandmechanicalsy
5、stems.Fromthepointofviewofdynamicmodelling,gasturbinescanbere-gardedasamixedthermodynamical-mechanicalsystems.Thedynamicconservationbalanceandthealgebraicequationsofthemodelarenon-linear,sotheyrepresentacomplexproblembothformsystemanalysisandcontrolpointofview.Therefore,themostcommonway
6、toperformdynamicanalysisandcontroldesignistoapplyalocallylinearizedmodelaroundanoperatingpointinsteadofconsideringanonlinearmodel.Ontheotherhand,newmathematicalandcontrolmethodsandtoolshasrecentlycametothefrontoftheresearchandweredevelopedwhichareabletohandlenonlinearsystemsandmodelsusi
7、ngspecialnonlineartechniques.Thustheresultsofthedynamicanalysisofnonlinearmodelscanbeproperlyappliedtononlinearcontroldesign[6],[10].Basedonthesefactstheaimoftheresearchworksummarizedinmydissertationwastoinvestigatethepossibilityofdesigninganonlinearcontrollersatisfyingprescrib
