4、echnologiesadoptedincloudcomputingaswellasthesystemsinenterprises.Cloudcomputingcanbeviewedfromtwodifferentaspects.Oneisaboutthecloudinfrastructurewhichisthebuildingblockfortheuplayercloudapplication.Theotherisofcoursethecloudapplication.Thispaperfocusesonthecloudinfrastru
5、ctureincludingthesystemsandcurrentresearch.Someattractivecloudapplicationsarealsodiscussed.Cloudcomputinginfrastructurehasthreedistinctcharacteristics.First,theinfrastructureisbuiltontopoflargescaleclusterswhichcontainalargenumberofcheapPCservers.Second,theapplicationsarec
6、o-designedwiththefundamentalinfrastructurethatthecomputingresourcescanbemaximallyutilized.Third,thereliabilityofthewholesystemisachievedbysoftwarebuildingontopofredundanthardwareinsteadofmerehardware.Allthesetechnologiesareforthetwoimportantgoalsfordistributedsystem:highsc
7、alabilityandhighavailability.Scalabilitymeansthatthecloudinfrastructurecanbeexpandedtoverylargescaleeventothousandsofnodes.Availabilitymeansthattheservicesareavailableevenwhenquiteanumberofnodesfail.Fromthispaper,readerswillcapturethecurrentstatusofcloudcomputingaswellasit
