5、erleisureortaste,orinformationsufficienttotakethemthroughalargemass(atanyrate)ofancientverse,notevenifitbeSpenser'sorMilton's.Mannersandmodesofspeech,again,havechanged;andmuchthatwasadmissiblecenturiessince,oratleastsoughtadmission,hasnow,byalawagainstwhichprotestisidle,lapsedintotheinde
6、corous.Evenunaccustomedformsofspellingareanefforttotheeye;--akindoffriction,whichdiminishestheeaseandenjoymentofthereader.Thesehindrancesandclogs,ofverydiversenature,cannotbedisregardedbyPoetry.Incommonwitheverythingwhichaimsathumanbenefit,shemustworknotonlyforthe'faithful':shehasalsothe
