4、ontinuouslyonthemonotonicofconcretecolumnsexternallyjacketedwithFRPcompositewraps,includingbothexperimentalandanalyticalstudies.Aslightlygrowingnumberofstudieshaverecentlyconcentrated,incontrast,onthecyclicbehaviorofsmallandmedium-sizeconcretecolumnsc
5、onfinedwithfiber-reinforcedpolymer(FRP)sheets.However,mostoftheup-to-dateliteratureonthebehaviorofFRP-confinedcompressionmembershasfocusedextensivelyonsquareandcircularunreinforced(plain)concretecolumns.Infact,itiswellknownthatthedominantstructuralbui
6、ldingsRCcolumnsarerectangular,andthestudieshaveclearlyrevealedthatthebehaviorofthesecolumnsmainlydependsonseveralfactorssuchasaspectratioofcross-section,confiningreinforcement,sharpnessofthesectioncorners,etc.Accordingtotheliterature,researchontheinfl
7、uenceofside-aspectratio,height,largercross-section,andratioofinternalsteelreinforcementonthebehaviorofaxiallycyclicloadedrectangularreinforcedconcretecolumnsconfinedwithCFRPcompositesis,however,verylimited.Toaddresssuchknowledgegaps,thispaperpresentsa
8、pilotresearchprovidingacomprehensivepooloflaboratorytestingresultsof42large-scaleRCcolumnstestedundermonotonicandcycliccompressiveloadsafterbeingstrengthenedwithcarbonfiber-reinforcedpolymer(CFRP)composites.Theexperimentalstudydealswithaseries
