4、nlesssteelconsumablestoweldtheabovesteelwastheonlyavailableremedybecauseofhighersolubilityforhydrogeninausteniticphase.Inthisinvestigation,anattemptwasmadetodetermineasuit-ableconsumabletoreplaceexpensiveausteniticconsumables.Twodifferentconsumables,namely,austeni
5、ticstain-lesssteelandlowhydrogenferriticsteel,wereusedtofabricatethejointsbyshieldedmetalarcwelding(SMAW)andfluxcoredarcwelding(FCAW)processes.Thejointsfabricatedbyusinglowhydrogenferriticsteelconsuma-blesshowedsuperiortransversetensileproperties,whereasjointsfabr
