4、cfieldofenquirycalledInterculturalBusinessCommunicationasitispursuedinthecontextoftheGermanyhighereducationsystem.Itspurposeistwofold:Firstly,itattemptstobringtolightanddebatetheactualvalidityclaimsmadebytheseauthorsinrespecttosocio-economicchangesandtheeducationalpromiseofintercul
5、turalunderstandingthroughinterculturaltraining.Secondly,itshowshowaspectsofcontext(e.g.interdisciplinaryrelations,disciplinaryintricacies,hegemonicdiscourses,changesinthehighereducationalsystemanditsrelationtoothersocialspheres)canimpactuponthediscourseandgenreofsocialscienceingene
6、ralandthisparticularfieldinparticular.BydrawinguponCriticalDiscourseAnalysisasatheoreticalstanceandamethodologicalpath,acorpusof24academicarticlespublishedinthisareaisanalyzedinrelationtotherecontextualizationofsocio-economicchanges(presencesandabsencesofsocialactors,processesandev
