2、ageteacher.ThisquestionremindsmeofmyownteacherofEnglishandChinese.WhatIexpectfromthem?Capable,humorous,responsible,well-prepared,kindandsoon.Consequently,itbreaksoutthemisunderstandingthatwhetherapersonisabletobecomeagoodlanguageteachersolelydependsonthecommandofthelanguage,asitisonly
3、oneaspectofthequalityagoodlanguageteacherhas.Thenwhatmakesagoodlanguageteacher?ThereareavarietyofelementsthatcontributetothequalitiesofagoodEnglishteacher,whichcanbecategorizedintothreeaspects:ethicdevotion,personalstyle,andmoreimportantly,theprofessionalqualities.Thesethreeaspectscon
4、stitutetheprofessionalcompetenceofagoodlanguageteacher.Firstly,agoodlanguageteachershouldhaveethicdevotion.Theteachershouldbeamodelandsetagoodexampletohisstudentsbecausemoststudentswouldbeinfluencedbytheirteacher’sbehaviorunconsciously.Ateacherwithextremehighlevelofmoralityoftenhasapo
5、tentandpositiveeffectonhisstudents,ratherthanthosewithhighteachingstandard.Soagoodlanguageteachershouldshowtheirmoralqualityaswellastheirknowledge.Tobespecific,agoodlanguageteachershouldbefair,notonlyshouldhebefairtohisstudents,suchastreatsthemequally,and“partiality”isforbidden,buthes
