2、outhAfrica,thetownofParysbeingoneofthem.Paryshasexperiencedtourismdevelopmentoverthepastfewyearswhichhasresultedinlocaleconomicgrowth,asespeciallyreflectedinthetradeindustry,amidstthedeclineofsectorssuchasmanufacturingandmining.Thestudyfocussesonthefactorsthatgaveriset
3、othedevelopmentoftourisminthistown,aswellasonopportunitiesandbarrierstofurtherdevelopment.Aprofileoftourism,small,mediumandmicroenterprises,isprovidedalongwithothermainfindingsregardingthenatureofthetourismindustryintheareawhichincludestheuniquesellingpointsofthearea,v
4、isitorcharacteristics,demandandtargetmarketsegments.Strategicdevelopmentinitiatives,inthelightofthefindings,recommendforthefuturedevelopmentofthetourismindustryintheareatoincludetourismproductdevelopmentfocussedonattractions;theidentificationofkeymarketsegmentssuchasbu
