3、nhascomeintouse.Sincethat,theamountofGMfoodsincreasedby52timeseachyear.Peoplehavesharedalotofadvantagesastimewentby.GMcropsaremoreproductiveandhavealargeryield.Theycanoffermorenutritionalvalueandbetterflavor.Whatismore,apossibilitythattheycouldeliminateallergy-causingpropertiesinsomefoodsandin
4、builtresistancetopests,weedsanddisease.Theyarealsomorecapableofthrivinginregionswithpoorsoiloradverseclimatesandremainingfreshlonger.Still,atthesametime,muchdangerhasbeenputupalltheway.Forexample,inAugust1998,aBritishresearchinstitutereportedthatratsateGMpotatoes,whichwasinsect-resistanttransg
5、enicpotatoesproducedbysnowdroplectin.Andtherewasdamagetointernalorgansandimmunesystemsandthisimpededthegrowthofmice.Apartfromwhatwehavementionedabove,geneticallymodifiedfoodshasalsoexertedinfluenceonthepossibleimpactofhumanconsumptionandmayaffecttheecologicalenvironment,suchassuperweedproblems
