3、pletenucleotidesequencesweredeterminedbycDNAcloningofpeplomer(S),integralmem-brane(M)andnucleocapsid(N)genesoffelineinfectiousperitonitisvirus(FIPV)typeIstrainKU-2,UCD1andBlack,andfelineentericcoronavirus(FECV)typeIIstrain79-1683.OnlyMandNgeneswereanalyzedinstrainKU-2andstrain7

4、9-1683,whichstillhadunknownnucleotidesequences.DeducedaminoacidsequencesofS,MandNproteinswerecomparedinatotalof7strainsofcoronaviruses,whichincludedFIPVtypeIIstrain79-1146,caninecoronavirus(CCV)strainInsavc-1andtransmissiblegastroenteritisvirusofswine(TGEV)strainPurdue.Comparis

5、onofdeducedaminoacidsequencesofMandNproteinsrevealedthatbothMandNproteinshadanidentityofatleast90%betweenFIPVtypeIandtypeII.Thephylo-genetictreeoftheMandNprotein-deducedaminoacidsequencesshowedthatFIPVtypeIandtypeIIformagroupwithFECVtypeII,andthattheseviruseswereevolutionarilyd

6、istantfromCCVandTGEV.Ontheotherhand,whentheSprotein-deducedaminoacidsequenceswascompared,identityofonlyabout45%wasfoundbetweenFIPVtypeIandtypeII.ThephylogenetictreeoftheSprotein-deducedaminoacidsequencesindicatedthatthreestrainsofFIPVtypeIformagroup,andthatitisaverylongdistance
