4、silfuelsforpoweringeconomies,broadlydescribedasthepyrictransition,frameskeypatternsinhumanfireusageandlandscapefireactivity.ThesehaveproduceddistinctpattersofhumanexposuretoairpollutionassociatedwiththeAgriculturalandIndustrialRevolutionsandpost-industrialtheEar
5、thglobalsystem-widechangesincreasinglyknownastheAnthropocene.Changesinpatternsofhumanfertility,mortalityandmorbidityassociatedwitheconomicdevelopmenthavebeenpreviouslydescribedintermsofdemographic,epidemiologicalandnutritiontransitions,yettheseframeworkshavenote
6、xplicitlyconsideredthedirectconsequencesofcombustionemissionsforhumanhealth.Toaddressthisgap,weproposeapyrohealthtransitionandusedatafromtheGlobalBurdenofDisease(GBD)collaborationtocomparedirectmortalityimpactsofemissionsfromlandscapefires,domesticfires,fossilfu
