1、TheProblemsandCountermeasuresofOralEnglishTeachingintheRuralMiddleSchools1.IntroductionNowadays,withtheopening-upofChina,peoplepaymoreandmoreattentiononEnglishlearning.TheyareenthusiasticaboutlearningEnglishespeciallyoralEnglishlearning.MostofstudentsbegintolearnEnglis
2、hfromGrade3inprimaryschools.However,classroomteachinghasbeentheonlywaytolearnEnglishinChina,andthemethodhasusuallyinvolvedcramminggrammar-translationknowledgeintolearningalanguage.[1]ListeningandspeakingactsimportantrolesinEnglishteaching,andonthebasisofthesetwoskills,
3、readingandwritingwillbecultivated.SospeakingasoneofthefourlanguageskillshasplayedaveryimportantroleinEnglishteachinginmiddleschools.Allthecommunicationsareestablishedonthebasisofspeaking.[2]Butitisbeneglectedinsomeruralareas.Tobeabletohaveagoodpronunciationandtone,that
4、is,speakingEnglishwellcangiveyouconfidence.Indailylife,speakingisthemostconveniencewaytocommunicate.Soitisnecessaryforthestudentstoimprovetheabilityofspeaking.What’smore,withthereformationofnewprocessofteaching,itrequiresthatthestudentshavetheabilityofexpressing,receiv
5、ingandpassinginformationinEnglishintherealoccasions.[3]Freemanappointedthatknowledgedevelopmentandchangeswiththeteachersthemselvesandcontinuestodevelopandimproved.[4]Sincetheautumnof2001,manyprimaryschoolsinthecitiesandthecountieshaveofferedEnglishcourses.Englishteachi
6、nginruralmiddleschoolsisgoingtobecarriedoutgradually.TeachersarethekeytoteachingqualityinEnglishlanguageteaching.NewStandardEnglish[5]indicatesthatsomeeducationstudentsshouldlearnEnglishincludesvoice,vocabulary,grammar,functionsandtopics.Basedonclassroomteaching,thispa
7、peranalyzestherereasonsofEnglishoralteachingdifficultiesasfollow:studentsdonothaveaclearattitudeandmotivation,teachers’outdatedteachingmethodsandtheunreasonableoftheteachers’agestructure,andirrationalEnglishoralenvironment.Atthesametime,abovetheseproblemsandcombinedwit
8、hpracticalteachingexperienceandlocalconditions,thispaperproposedsomecountermeasures,suchascooperationofteachersandstu
