2、ortantroleindevelopingall—opticalnetwork.Becauseoftheuniquenano—structure,attractiveslowlightpropertiesandroom-temperatureoperation,theopticalbufferbasedonphotoniccrystalwaveguidehascapturedmoreandmoreattentionofresearchers.Comparedwithphotoniccrystallinedefectwav

3、eguides,thephotoniccrystalcoupled-cavitywaveguidehasanattractivefeatureofslowlightwithveryflatbandandsmallgroupvelocity,whichCanbeappliedasopticaldelaylinesandopticalbuffers.Thisdissertation,mainlyconductsthoroughresearchonthepropertiesofslowlightinphotoniccrystal

4、coupled-cavitywaveguide.Wedesignanumberofdifferentstructuralmodels———_thesinglecavity,complexcavityandhalf-periodcavitymodels.Throughofanalysisandcomparison,wefinallyascertainthehalf-periodstructurepossessestheoptimumslowlightperformance.Themajorworkandinnovationo

5、fthepaperincludesthefollowing.1Weestablishthreevariouscavitiesbasedontheconventionalsquarestructure.Fourdifferenttypesofsinglecavitymodelswhoseslowlightcharactersaleinfluencedbythedistancebetweentwocavitiesareinvestigated.Theresultofstudyfoundthat:(1)Themaximumgro

6、upvelocitiesofcavitiesarelinearlydecreasedasthedistancebetweentwocavitiesincreases.WhenL=3a,themaximumgroupvelocityisonlyaround10~C.ThenincreaseLto6a,itCanreducethreeorderofmagnitudeof(2)ThedistributionsofdielectricrodswhichCanexertagreaterimpactontheparametersofs
