2、nsandtherangeofusagearethesameorsimilar,andsomearedifferent.Ontheonehand,theyarethesameorsimilar,becausehumanbeingshavesomesimilarcapabilitiesofthought,somesamelawsofcognition,andsomeanimalshavethesameimportantroleinthehumanlifeofthesetwonations,andhavethesameattrib
3、utesandfeatures.Ontheotherhand,becauseofthelongcourseofhistorybetweenthesetwosocialgroups,theyarediscrepantinreligion,history,geographicalenvironmentandcustoms.Thesediscrepanciesmakeanimalwordsdifferentintheirculturalconnotationsinthesetwolanguages.Becauseofthesedis
4、crepancies,weshouldconsiderthedifferencesandsimilaritiesoftheculturalconnotationscarriedbyanimalwordswhentranslatinganimalwords.Onlyinthisway,canwetranslatecorrectlytherealmeaningsandthestyleoftheoriginal,andpromotethecross-culturalexchangesbetweenthetwocountries.Ke
5、yWords:animalword;culturalconnotation;discrepancy;translationmethod15漢英動物詞的文化內(nèi)涵對比及翻譯摘要中英文里都含有大量和動物有關(guān)的詞語、習(xí)語和表達(dá)。它們的詞義、文化內(nèi)涵及其應(yīng)用范圍都有相同或相似之處,也有不同之處。一方面,它們有共同或相似之處,這是因為人類有相似的思維能力;共同的認(rèn)知規(guī)律;一些動物在漢英兩大民族生活中占有同等重要的地位;以及這些動物本身的固有屬性和特點。另一方面,由于漢英兩大社會群體在各自漫長的歷史進(jìn)程中,各自的宗教不同;歷史文化不同;地理
