4、ationhasbeenflourishedinourcountry.Chinahasbecomeoneofthebiggestcountrieswhichprovidenursingtalents.Therefore,itissignificanttoimprovethenursingstudents’interculturalcommunicationcompetence(ICC).MostofthenursingstudentsareinterestedinICCinhealthschools,thoughtheyknow
5、theimportanceofICC,theirabilitystillhasremainedataratherlOWlevelContent—basedInstruction(CBI)isateachingmethodwhichadvocatesacombinationoftheprofessionalknowledgeandEnglishlanguageteaching.IthasbeenconsideredtobeusefulinEnglishteachingasaforeign/secondlanguageinthela
6、sttwodecades.Manystudieshaveconfirmeditssuperiorities.ItisreportedthatCBIisthetrendofthereformofvocationalEnglishandcollegeEnglish.ItisalsosignificantforthereformofEnglishteachinginseniorvocationalschools.Inthispaper,theauthorattemptstoapplytheCBItoForeignEnglishteac
7、hing.ThecontentsofforeignnursingareinvolvedintotheEnglishteachingclassesinordertoimprovethenursingstudents’ICC.Accordingtotherelevantcontentsofnursingprofession,theauthoradoptsSpitzberg’SthreecomponentsofICCasthemaintheoreticalfoundationtoconstructthemodelofnursingst
