5、eappropriaterestorationarrangements.Inthisdissertation,theimpactofhurricanesonthereliabilityofcompositepowersystemsisinvestigated.Firstly,theimpactofadverseweatheronthelong-termreliabilityofcompositepowersystemsisinvestigatedbyusingMarkovcut-setmethod.TheAlgorithmsfortheimplementationisdev
6、eloped.Here,two-stateweathermodelisused.Analgorithmforsequentialsimulationisalsodevelopedtoachievethesamegoal.Theresultsobtainedbyusingthetwomethodsarecompared.Thecomparisonshowsthattheanalyticalmethodcanobtaincomparableresultsandmeantimeitcanbefasterthanthesimulationmethod.Secondly,theimp
7、actofhurricanesontheshort-termreliabilityofcompositepowersystemsisinvestigated.Afuzzyinferencesystemisusedtoassessthefailurerateincrementofsystemcomponents.Here,differentmethodsareusedtobuildtwotypesoffuzzyinferencesystems.Consideringthefactthathurricanesusual
