3、yoswerepurifiedbydifferentialandisopycniccentrifugationinsucrosegradients.Intactvirionspresentinfractionsofdensities1.18to1.20g/mlwereprecipitatedwithtrichloroaceticacidandtheproteincontentwasanalyzedbysodiumdodecylsulfate-polyacrylamidegelelectrophoresis.Atleastsevenpolypeptideswithmolecular
4、weightsrangingfrom27,000to180,000wereregularlydetectedafterelectrophoresisofSDS-solubilizedvirions.Homologousrabbitantiseratoturkeycoronavirusesandpooledserafromconvalescentturkeysimmunochemicallystainedfivepoly-peptidesofapparentmolecularweightsof95,000,72-75,000,66,000,52,000and27,000.Afurt
5、herpolypeptidewithamolecularweightof140,000appearedintheabsenceof2-mercaptoethanolandprobablyrepresentsadimerofthe66,000polypeptide.OneQuebecisolatedifferedfromtheMinnesotastrainbytwoofitspolypeptides,butnoantigenicvariationscouldbedemonstratedamongstthevariousisolateseitherbyimmuno-electronm
6、icroscopy,hemag-glutinationinhibition,orenzymeimmunoassaysonnitrocellulose.IntroductionTransmissibleenteritisofturkeys(bluecombdisease)isanacute,highlyinfec-tiousdiseaseaffectingturkeysofallages,butespeciallypoults.Theprincipalclinicalsignsareanorexia,waterydroppings,markeddehydratation,weigh
