3、asobtainedfromthecaecumofasickrabbit,concentratedbycentrifugationandpurifiedonPercollgradient.Inordertoidentifytheviralparticlesusedintheimmunizationprocedure,theproteinpatternoftheparticleswasdeterminedbyelectrophoresisandcomparedwiththepatternofotherknowncoronaviruses.Anal
4、ysisofstructuralpolypeptidesofthepurifiedviralparticlesrevealedapatternsimilartothatreportedforothercoronaviruses.Thesepolypeptidescrossreactedwithtwoothercoronavirusspecificimmunesera(IBVandTGE).IEMassayoffecalsamplescollectedfromhealthyandsickrabbitsshowedthepresenceofimmu
5、neaggregatesinspecimensfrombothsickandhealthyrabbits.Thoseaggregatescontainedviralparticulessharingmorphologicalcharacteristicswithothercoronaviruses.Furthermore,IEMassaywasshowntobemoresensitivethanadirectEMproceduretodetectcoronavirusparticlesinrabbitfeces.Thisassayalsoall
