4、he4popula.tionsweremeasuredtosurveythephenotypicvariationofnaturalpopulationsandtherelationshipbetweenthephe—notypicvariationandtheiraltitudeofdistributionareas.ThemethodsofANOVAanalysis,multi.comparisonandcorrelationanalysiswereusedf0ranalyzingthedatameasured.Theresultsshowedthat,therew
5、ereremarkable(P<0.O1)variationsinneedlelength,widthanddryweightamongpopulations,withcomponentofvariance15.05%一28.03%,butnovariationofthemwithinpopulations.Thedryweightwassignificantly(P<0.O1)positivelycorrelatedtotheneedlelengthandwidth,andtheircorrelationcoeficientswere0.46639and0.66567
6、,respec-tively.Regardingtoelementcontentinneedles,thereweresignificant(P<0.05)variationsofNandPcontents,andC/Nratioamongpopulations,exceptingCcontent.Moreover,thecomponentofvarianceamongpopulationswashigher(29.98%一37.56%)whencomparedwiththatwithinpopulations,andtherewasdistinctly(P7、varianceofN/Pratioamongpopulations,anditscomponentofvariancewas60.44%.Forcorelationsbetweennee—dlelengthandN/Pratio,altitudewasnegativelyandsignificantly(P
