2、lopmentsinphysicssuchasthestudyofquantumchaos.Developmentsinphysicsthroughoutthelastfourdecades,oftenequallyapplicabletobothquantumandlinearacousticproblemsbutoverwhelminglymoreoftenexpressedinthelanguageoftheformer,haveexploredthis.Thereisasigni?cantnewamountoftheorythatcanbeusedtoaddressprob

3、lemsinlinearacousticsandvibration,butonlyasmallamountofreportedworkdoesso.Thisbookisanattempttobridgethegapbe-tweentheoreticiansandpractitioners,aswellasthegapbetweenquantumandacoustic.Tutorialchaptersprovideintroductionstoeachofthemajoraspectsofthephysicaltheoryandarewrittenusingtheappropriat
