3、increasesintheinformationtransmissionrate.Itisthereforeimportanttoanalysetheinformationcapacityofsuchsystemsinrealisticsituationsofmicrowavetransmission,wherethestatisticsofthetransmissionamplitudes(channel)maybecoloured.Here,wepresentanapproachthatprovidesanalyticexpressionsforthesta
4、tistics,i.e.themomentsofthedistribution,ofthemutualinformationforgeneralGaussianchannelstatistics.Themathematicalmethodappliestoolsdevelopedoriginallyinthecontextofcoherentwavepropagationindisorderedmedia,suchasrandommatrixtheoryandreplicas.Althoughitisvalidformallyforlargeantennanumb
5、ers,thisapproachproducesextremelyaccurateresultsevenforarrayswithasfewastwoantennas.Wealsodevelopamethodtoanalyticallyoptimizeovertheinputsignaldistribution,whichenablesustocalculateanalyticcapacitieswhenthetransmitterhasknowledgeofthestatisticsofthechannel.Theemphasisofthispaperisone
