3、investigatesMorrison’SJazzfromperspectiveofmigrationnarrative．Thestudyinquestionhasbeenneglectedinexistingcriticism．Thethesisiscomposedofintroduction，thebodyandconclusion．TheintroductionfocusesontheliterarysurveyofJazz，researchobjectiveandresearchmethodsofthethesis．Thebodyconsi
4、stsofthreechapters．ThefirstchapterdiscusseshowMorrisonpresentsmigrationmotifsinJazz．Basedontheexperienceofthethreegenerationsofthemigrants，Morrisondealswithtwoclassicalmotifsofmigration：motifofnecessityandmotifofextravagance，whichpropelsthemigrantstoachieveascentinthecity．Thein
5、vestigationemphasizesthepointthatmigrantsmovetothecityarejustfindingwaystogetridoftheirtragicorunsatisfactorylives．Thesecondchapterapproachesmigrants’conflictswiththecity,includingenvironmentalconflictandemotionalconflicts．Theenvironmentalconflictisembodiedinthegreatchangefromp
