1、AbstractLanguagetransferhasbeenacontroversialtopicinthesecondlanguageacquisition,withinthelastfewdecades;itsimportanceinforeignlanguagelearninghasbeenreassessedseveraltimes·Recently,ithasarousedscholars’interestagainandbeendiscussedfromdifferentperspectives.Languagetransfercanbe
2、classifiedaspositivetransferandnegativetransfer.Positivetransferisthefacilitationofthemothertonguethroughthesimilaritiesbetweenthemothertongueandthetargetlanguage;whilenegativetransferistheinterferenceofthemothertongue,resultingfromthedissimilaritiesbetweenthemothertongueandthet
3、argetlanguage.Asaprocessinvolvingtheshiftofbilinguatinformation,translationprocessis,inparti“l(fā)ar,constrainedbythephenomenonofnegativetransfer.Translatorsmayutilizetheidiomaticexpressionsoftheirnativelanguageintheprocessoftranslating.Thenegativetransferofmothertongueisverysalient
4、inChinese.Englishtranslationinthatthetwolanguagesbearlittleinoommonbecauseoftheirdifferentorigins.Thepresentstudyisa11]efforttoexplorethetransferproblematlexicallevelinthetranslationproductsofEnglishmajors.Inthestudy,thetheoriesofContrastiveAnalysisandErrorAnalysis,aswellasthecl
