5、lligenttechniquesincludingexpertsystems,fuzzylogicandPetri-nets,aswellasdatafromremoteterminalunits(RTUs)ofsupervisorycontrolanddataacquisition(SCADA)systems,anddigitalprotectiverelayshavebeenexploredandutilizedtofuˉlltheobjectives.Thetaskoffaultsectionestimationisdi±cultwhenm
6、ultiplefaults,failuresofprotectiondevices,andfalsedataareinvolved.AFuzzyReasoningPetri-netsapproachhasbeenproposedtotacklethecomplexities.Inthisapproach,thefuzzyreasoningstartingfromprotectionsystemstatusdataandendingwithestimationoffaultedpowersystemsectionisformulatedbyPetri
7、-nets.Thereasoningprocessisimplementedbymatrixoperations.DatafromRTUsofSCADAsystemsanddigitalprotectiverelaysareusedasinputs.Experientialtestshaveshownthattheproposedapproachisabletoperformaccuratefaultsectionestimationundercomplexscenarios.Theevaluationofprotectionsystemperfo
