3、forqualityandfoodsafety.Moreover,manymultinationalfoodchainsarecreatingandimplementingtheirownstandardsforqualityandsafety.Smallholderproducers,duetotheirlimitedresources,areatadisadvantageinaccommodatingsuchrequirementsforqualityandsafetyguaranteesandcertification.Objecti
4、ves：ThecompanyBlueSkieswasformedin1997andstartedtoproduceprocessedtropicalfruitsfortheinternationalmarketinGhanaearly1998.Shortlythereafter,thecompanyinitiatedasupplychainmanagementprojectaimedatimprovingthequalityofitsprocessedfruit.Onetaskwastotakeahardlookattheorganizat
5、ionoftheprocessedfruitsupplychain.Theresultofthisanalysiswasthecompany’sdecisiontomovesomeprocessingactivitiestoGhana,tothebenefitofboththeenterpriseandthelocalcommunity(intheformofjobs).Themovebroughtmorevalue-addedactivitiestothecountry,andthequalityoftheproductwasalsoim
