2、einteractionoracknowledgeofthepresenceofother.Therefore,propergreetingbehavioriscrucialforthefoundationandmaintenanceofinterpersonalrelationships.However,sinceChinaistotallydifferentfromtheWesterncountriesbothinitshistoryanditsculture,itisundoubtedlythatgreeting,whichisclosel
3、yrelatedtoitsculture,willbequitedifferentfromthatintheWesterncountries.Misusingthegreetingmayeasilyleadtomisunderstandingintheinterculturalcommunication.Therefore,toacknowledgethedifferencesexistinginthegreetingisthefirststeptoachievemutualunderstandingandrespect.Thispaper,wi

5、】語(yǔ)言是人們進(jìn)行交流的媒介。問(wèn)候語(yǔ)是語(yǔ)言的一個(gè)組成部分，也是社交禮儀的重要部分；它是日常生活中頻繁使用的言語(yǔ)行為之一，具有建立和延續(xù)各種人際關(guān)系的作用。在日常交際中，適當(dāng)?shù)膯?wèn)候舉止是建立和維持人與人之間關(guān)系的關(guān)鍵。然而，由于中國(guó)的歷史背景和文化背景與西方國(guó)家有著相當(dāng)大的差異，存在于文化之中的問(wèn)候語(yǔ)也隨之有著相當(dāng)大的差異。這種差異在跨文化交際中很容易引起誤解。因此，為促進(jìn)不同語(yǔ)言和文化背景下人們的相互溝通，有必要深入了解中西文化中問(wèn)候語(yǔ)的差異。本文通過(guò)對(duì)中西方文化背景中一些典型問(wèn)候語(yǔ)的對(duì)比研究，闡述了兩種文化中關(guān)于問(wèn)候語(yǔ)的相關(guān)理論，在層次、功能、根
