3、asamothertonguemakesonEnglishlearning,whilethelatteristheopposite.ManyaspectsandexamplescanbeseenornoticedtoillustratethetransferofChinese.ThispaperfocusesonpositiveandnegativetransferofChineseasamothertongueinEnglishvocabularylearningandexploresthefeaturesofsucht
4、ransferbyanalyzingsometypicalexamplesfoundindailylifeandEnglishlearningprogress.ThecontrastiveanalysisaimsatmakingtheconceptoftransferofChinesemucheasiertobeunderstoodtoEnglishlearners.ThusthelearnerscanpaymoreattentiontothetransferofChineseasamothertongueandmaket
5、hepositivetransferofChineseasamothertonguemoreusefulinEnglishvocabularylearning.ⅠDefinitionsItisknownthatlanguageisthecarrierofculture,anddifferentpeopleornationshavedifferentcultures.Withdifferentcultures,itisunavoidablethattherearedifferencesamongpeople’spsychol
6、ogicalactivities.Thustheyhavesomeeffectsonthewaypeoplethinkandtheconstructionoftheirlanguage.Therefore,insecondlanguageacquisition,thelearner’snativelanguagewillinevitablygetinvolvedin.Languagetransfer,asRodEllispointsout,meanstheinfluencethatthelearners’firstlang
