1、LearningjournalonmultimediastreamingoverwirelesscommunicationI.IntroductionRecently,wirelesssensornetwork(WSN)hasbeenoneofthehottopicsintheITresearcharea.WSNsenablelargerscalenetworksofsensornodescapableofsensingreal-timeinformation,suchastemperature,pressu

2、re,humidity,orlocationofobjects,fromtheenvironment,processthesenseddataandtransmitthroughwirelesscommunicationittotheremotelocation.[3]However,withtheincreasingdemandofvariousapplicationsanddiverseinformation,collectinginformationintheformofmultimediasuchas

3、audio,image,andvideoisneeded.Therefore,itaddressesadditionalchallengesduetotheuniquerequirementsofmultimediastreamsdeliveryoverWSN,resultinginthedistributed,networkedsystems,referredaswirelessmultimediasensornetworks(WMSNs).[1]Throughreviewingsomerelatedart

4、icleintheliterature,IgraspafundamentalunderstandingofthenewconceptofWMSN,tobemorespecifically,theframeworkoftheprotocolstack,thecurrentstatusoftheliteratureonthemultimediastreamingoverWSNs,presentproposedsolutionsofprotocolsateachlayer,andcross-layerapproac

5、hestooptimizetheperformancesofmultimediacommunication.BelowIdiscussthechallengesandsolutionswiththeirprosandcons.Finally,mypersonalfeelingsandideasoverthisissuearesummarized.II.FrameworkoftheprotocolstackFigure1TraditionalframeworkofprotocolsinaWSN1.Physica
