3、studiesmadeitclearthattranslationisboundtobeinfluencedbysocialandculturalbackground.Therefore,absolutefidelityisimpossible.People'sviewontranslatorshadgreatlychangedandmosthadcometoacknowledgetheimportantroleoftranslatorsinthetranslationprocess,butduringtheculturaltur
4、nintranslationstudies,thefocusoftranslators'subjectivitywasmostlyonexternalfactorsandculturalbackground.Inrecentyears,scholarshavebeentryingtosolvethisproblem.Manyarticleswerepublisheddiscussingsubjectivityfromtheperspectiveoftranslators.However,afterabrieflookatsomeo
5、ftherepresentativearticlesinChapterTwoofthisthesis,itisfoundthatmostofthediscussionstreatedtranslatorsasawholeandtriedtoanalyzetheirrolesintranslationonceandforall.Theproblemisthateachtranslatorisanindependentexistencewhohashisownuniqueaestheticvalue,translationview,a
6、ndartisticpursuit,etc.Inphilosophy,thestudyofsubjectivitywentthroughaprocessfromtheworshipofnature,tothepredominanceofrationalism,andthentoafocusoneachindividualbeing.Thisprocessisfoundtobequiteinspiringandinformativeforthestudyoftranslator'ssubjectivity.Therefore,the
7、thesisgoesontousethreepairsofantinomiesinphilosophy-passivityandactivity,instinctandself-awareness,andinevitabilityandprobability-tofurtherexplaintheshiftoffocusfromtheoutsideworldtoeachindividualbeing,inanattempttoshedlightsonthestudyoftranslators'subjectivity.ShiXia
